I think you have mind my email and phone number. 10:06:02 I will give me a few moments to do it I'm got to do it right now. Sometimes I'll make sure it's in there. Thank you. Okay, done. 10:06:11 And I'll pass it over to the CDC director medicated appeal to the eligibility. 10:06:23 Hi, good morning, everyone. 10:06:25 I'm still work to go well for 10 day, how to do the state Disability Determination portion, which is a required component. 10:06:43 For anyone who was not on, as, as, di or has rolled out of so scary at a disability. We're gonna go over briefly, a little review of last week. 10:07:05 And one of the options for people who are working, who have qualifying disabilities is magic Cade buying in for you have to work and have a qualifying disability work means work for pay. 10:07:29 You do not have to work full time. 10:07:32 But you will have to receive the actual pay again you have to do actual work with Medicaid by in there is a premium based on your income. 10:07:46 And we're going to go over that calculation. As we go through the slide. 10:07:56 Angela. 10:07:59 Next one, please. 10:08:08 So today, we're gonna look at the man cave by at nap location and in this the build at the determination app. 10:08:23 We're also gonna look at the release those that are required. If you want someone at cc DC to assist you in the process. 10:08:35 So there's a third party released of information. 10:08:41 There are magical released is for the actual disk build it the termination process and proof I work. 10:08:54 Next one, and please. 10:08:59 Okay, so when. 10:09:05 Actually, the first thing people freak out about truthfully, is before they start the process is, what is my premium going to be to purchase Medicaid buy it. 10:09:22 Now, we're gonna use the tablet to see or have earned income, 965, When you're doing earned income, you get to subtract a whopping $65, which makes your income 900, you divide it by two which is $450, is what you would then look at the chart, and your 10:09:56 premium for Medicaid by in at that same level would be $25, a month. 10:10:08 It's more GDS and more costly for a good raise that when you have unearned income you only get to subtract $20 still way fewer unearned income from anything that could be so so security, it could be a pension. 10:10:33 It could be a sad old man, anything at all you do not earn include gang interest. 10:10:40 So in this example we're gonna use $220 minus 20 is 200 by remember you have to be working. So you have to add the 200. Plus, the 450 to get $650 and your premium. 10:11:11 In this example is still going to be $25. a month to purchase metric k by yet. 10:11:21 Now when you're purchasing Medicaid by in your purchasing Medicaid. 10:11:27 So with this, you get all the benefits that you would get with Medicaid, you would get regular medications go the doctor to get long term care you get dental. 10:11:47 So you get everything now to begin the process. The first thing we have to do is goes through the Medicaid application now. I did find out something just received recently a smaller application. 10:12:13 If you are already on magic came, and you start to work for example, or your income is going up, I do have a smaller application will include in the link we, I just like literally God, which makes it easier but where you're going to assume. 10:12:38 In this example, you do not have Medicaid. So we are going to go through this application. 10:12:47 It's the same application you would use for any medical Medicaid program. 10:12:55 When you're doing by new are only filling this out for the person who is applying for Medicaid by in. It is a single person program, you are not committing fraud by not including your spouse or your family members. 10:13:21 This program is specific lead for the individual applying for Medicaid by in. 10:13:34 Next slide please. 10:13:36 So, we're going to use. 10:13:41 Ms damn July here as our tests person for gitlin the app, again, guinea pig guinea pig. 10:13:53 Okay guinea pig Hey. 10:13:56 So what we are going to do is we're going to keep this forum focus to person one. 10:14:06 Remember, very specifically. This is only for the person, applying for Medicaid by him. 10:14:17 So, Miss Angela puts her name or address or city or county your contact information you can use phone number you can use email this system does not care. 10:14:34 Next slide please. 10:14:38 Okay. 10:14:41 So, member on the right side of the screen you're looking at self uu person one you are the only one you are going to be filling this application out for. 10:14:56 So you're gonna put your gender, your birthday so so scary a day. 10:15:05 There are a couple of exceptions. We're not going to go into those things just we're going to do is simple app. 10:15:17 Are you filing taxes yes or no. Will you file with the spouse. 10:15:25 In this case, for example, we put Yes, it will not make a difference in the NY, because Medicaid by in his only tat lead on your earned and earned income, simple, the form needs to be filled out accurate but don't like freak out because the law does step 10:15:48 will not apply to you or your family members or your spouse on the outcome of what you pay and your eligibility. 10:16:02 Next one, please. 10:16:06 Okay. So, do you need health coverage, while you're applying for this because you do need to health coverage. 10:16:18 Now that's question, eight now what we need to be very specific about his question. 10:16:30 Do you have a mad at globe, or developmental condition that has lasted or is expected to last more than 12 months. 10:16:43 Generally if you were applying for Medicaid buying in, you do have those conditions. 10:16:51 Even with for those people who have had cold fit for example, 10:17:00 the data is showing even if you've had coated some of these symptoms and residuals aren't lasting more than 12 months, so they are expected to last. You can. 10:17:17 You need to mark Yes. Now, do you need question, 11, do you need to help with some or all of self care activities such as dressing bathing eating used in the bathroom. 10:17:35 That's for question 11 is for long term care disability. Not everyone needs that it's a specific separate criteria. 10:17:51 And if you do not need that and cannot prove you need that. You do not have to mark that yes you mark it. No. 10:18:05 Well, can you. Thank you. 10:18:07 Okay. 10:18:09 I'm sorry. No, no worries. I'm probably going a little slower to now question for team, very very very important question as well. 10:18:24 Do you need, Medicaid, to help you pay for medical bills from the last three months. 10:18:36 Whether you have their insurance Medicare could be private or what not. I always suggest marking that. 10:18:48 Why, because it takes 90 days, 93 months to run a Medicaid by in application from beginning to end. So if you want, you can get your full coverage. Whether you need it or not, market, it does not hurt you. 10:19:14 It helps you if you don't have medical bills or. 10:19:20 Everything's covered by let's say guys or, or you're only paying $1 30 you for your meds through magic Karen you don't want to use that you don't have to, but use the options available to us to at least protect your position and needs if you have them. 10:19:43 Next one, please. 10:19:51 OK, so again, member upper left side your form person one. So, now, you can't nor can add new study is optional optional. 10:20:08 Here's why I said, always say ask the question when I'm working with people, or you Native American or Native Alaskan. That's important. If you are in can prove that multiple ways. 10:20:26 Then you do not pay co pays for your appointments or premiums. Now, that could change depending on Congress or how with coded budget start tightening, but it's really important. 10:20:43 If you are have that genetics, you do have rights again, make sure you use what you have available, where you want insured in the last six month, yes or no makes no real difference except again to figure our demand does this date. 10:21:07 Are we going to expect more people to be on Medicaid. To be able for this state and orgs like us to go. Why weren't you want insurance what happened to fill those gaps. 10:21:23 If you have a doctor. 10:21:26 In this case, remember we are doing Medicaid by in medical documentation will be need. So, if you feel comfortable. Mark Yes, put your doctor's name down. 10:21:43 It's just done to help in the process that we're going to go through with the state disability determination process. 10:21:58 You will fill out your jobs. 10:22:01 If you have two part time jobs, okay that's fine, does not make a difference. 10:22:10 Magic Medicaid by and you must have a job that you are paid by prove that you are actually doing. 10:22:23 Next slide please. 10:22:44 Sorry Donna I just want real quick one of the questions that we did have a good answer real fast was work for independent contractors, independent contractors, if they ate. 10:22:46 They are eligible like real estate and I am going to give a Red Flag Warning. 10:22:53 It depends how you weren't paid remember you can only have your maximum income per the chart about 4000 a month. So, if you are like reals realtors, if you are going to try not to get the 10 or $12,000 payment. 10:23:18 In one month, tried to see if you can break it. 10:23:24 Otherwise, if it can income average correctly, your gun and knock yourself out eligibility for specific months. 10:23:40 So, and contractors come under where we are question, 33 a self employed. 10:23:49 And that stuff in there so you may be able to have some of that contracting income, be reduced by putting that information in me or your expenses. 10:24:08 Business mortgage, utilities, and let me just make the reminder you till there these people forget about. It's not just power, it's wide or it's trash, it's, it may be having to depending on where you live, paid to when it snows have your side look clean. 10:24:53 So again, we're a bird left hand corner of the form person one. 10:25:01 These say, it begins accurate as you can hear, I know capital gains changes spouse so maintenance issues least than 10:25:17 unemployment. 10:25:29 Normally unemployment means you're not working in covert rules, and we're not going to go into that right now for this purpose, right here, generally means no you're not working, or you're going to prove with your unemployment check you're working three 10:25:43 out of five days, total de Leon unemployment won't work. 10:25:49 So secure day. How were you getting it was dead at one time payment was dead a back payment retirement 10:26:00 spouse so maintenance is an earned income if you get, just like capital gains dividends and interest farming would be earned income and rental property. 10:26:20 If you are running your property. You may potentially with proof be considered you are employed doing that, a royalty would be unearned income 10:26:35 spouse so maintenance, all this stuff will not count deductions do not count in Medicaid by in there is no disregards, you will fill them out accurately and they will not count. 10:26:53 Next page, please. 10:27:03 So, we remember we're doing person, one where it goes to person to. We are going to ignore those. We are not going to do those, but if you are of a member of the federally recognized American Indian or Native Alaskan tribe. 10:27:32 You are going to go to Step three, and filled that out. It's really important. I mean, you know, use your event and fed to build their ideas. 10:27:44 Then there's the worksheet that health coverage. step for. 10:27:52 If you have insurance including Medicaid private insurance. 10:27:58 Even if you may be on regular Medicaid listed, you're going from one program type into a nother program type. 10:28:11 There's VA Health Peace Corps, again, try account. Try care for the military employer insurance none. Kaiser, none of these are going to eliminate you from Medicaid by in Medicaid can be what's called a secondary insurance. 10:28:37 Some people have three insurances Medicare. Medicare supplemental and Medicaid, you could have one insurance. Try care because your spouse in the military and our guinea pig here Angela. 10:28:59 She may get Kaiser, and then she wants Medicaid buying in that is appropriate, you can do that. 10:29:10 Just list everything here on the form, and don't think you're not eligible. 10:29:20 Next one, please. So, there were only a couple of pages where you need to sign, you need to sign in Dave page, 11, if you are used and not not electronic signature. 10:29:38 It must be able to show, D, and some of them so time, but it has to be a LEED Gold timestamp or they have to kick it back. They can verify it to make sense. 10:29:57 We have to make sure we protect each other. 10:30:01 And if you're not registered to vote fill it out on that page. If you don't want to you don't have to. 10:30:09 So again, on page 18 is where you are also going to sign your form. 10:30:20 There's one you're going to print Nate your goodness sign that you're getting it David now. Number 10 Let's let me adjust that society been seeing a couple questions flash. 10:30:33 Number 10, are you wanting to says Steiger SSD guy. 10:30:39 If you are a man says, You are not Medicaid by in eligible as satisfy includes two programs as says die and 1619 big you are not Medicaid eligible because you weren't mandatory met. 10:31:01 The only way to become Medicaid by ineligible is to see if you can roll to SS di or you have to work with so security to do what rollover this day then county can not switch you over to Medicaid by in until so so security standards and the fish oh 10:31:33 know days you are no longer mandatory Mad Dog dressed si. 10:31:41 Donna. 10:31:44 I didn't want to cut you off I get we do have a few questions I think that would pertain to this you want me to read them, of course. 10:31:49 All right, one. We talked about the independent contractors. 10:31:54 So I think that covers it. 10:31:56 Kevin asks, at some point when we cover tax refunds and stimulus checks. 10:32:01 They don't care. Okay, tax refunds and stimulus checks, do not count against this. They're not earned income, they're not earned unearned income for Medicaid by unless Congress changes overall always realize what I'm telling you now is fact you that can 10:32:27 can be found because we give you resources. That is subject to change depending on what the state or federal government does in the future right now. No, they are not. 10:32:46 All right, and then we have, sorry. 10:32:49 Then we have, sorry. If someone has Medicaid due to the pandemic emergency. Does that count as part of this program as having Medicaid long term. 10:33:03 I'm Jennifer maybe she can clarify a little. 10:33:11 So, 10:33:15 yeah, if she can go ahead Jennifer. So, um, I was told I. The only reason that I have Medicaid is because of the emergency, because of the pandemic. 10:33:28 And so, I right now I still have, I have Medicaid, but I don't know when that state of emergency is deemed to be over. It's just, it's a little confusing for me but right now I have Medicaid because of coven 19. 10:33:48 So, 10:33:52 if a dynamics change to where somebody has a disability, and is now working making more money, and could be Medicaid by ineligible after conehead. 10:34:13 After co-head. The recommendation we have, and most counties do is run your buy it nap what happens at the end of the emergency is anybody who is questionable or presumptive is going to have to fill out to reject termination anyway and send it in all 10:34:38 your proof your banking come if you're going for long term care, your proof of income so if you gotta read determination fail it down. If you got one of those ladders we're gonna kick you off. 10:34:58 They can kick you off until you did go through the whole form of denial process. 10:35:10 So once you're on, you are with code, they have all of the eligible, you have all of the rights of due process is if you just because it was coven doesn't take away your due process rights to hearings and such. 10:35:25 Yeah, absolutely, but that lead or is not say that particular lead or we did take a case into the day Medicaid court. 10:35:41 And what the judge said yeah, they're ladders, they're not know this stage it can be kicked off so don't trip about those ladders, they are lead or they are not formal no div. 10:35:59 Okay, let's stick with Jennifer for a second here she said that because you had another one. 10:36:05 So I have to find it here we go guys are putting messages in here as fast as it'll go. 10:36:18 You already have SSD I thanks Jennifer. Good. If you already have SSD I would my answers be different to any of these questions on the forum. 10:36:29 No, you wouldn't just mark where it said, Are you on. Do you have this this is your SSDI you would mark Yeah, I might notice SDII work that is probably 50%, of the people who are on Medicaid buy in. 10:36:56 So you're and and once we get a little further. 10:37:02 So I'm going to go on a tangent to ask your question, answer part of your question. If you run as dire as SDI you have already been determined disable. 10:37:17 You do not have to do state Disability Determination because the federal government already said, You are disabled. 10:37:29 You are as that's the guy income. 10:37:34 That is under and income. 10:37:38 What you're earning working is going to be minus 65 cut. 10:38:05 We who are working on as di definitely pay a higher premium. We do. 10:37:58 But here's where we get a benefit. So, we pay roughly $144, a month for Medicare. 10:38:23 My meta gay premiums 100 and by $130. I'm saving $14, that's going in my pocket. 10:38:21 So everything is a waves perspective. 10:38:29 I think that 10:38:33 we can we can circle back around afterwards if you have more questions. Okay. Yeah. 10:38:39 Okay, Kevin says if we are in 1619 be during the health crisis Can we switch to buy in. 10:38:50 Would you want to maybe as a question. 10:38:55 So so security has to release your as as I caves. 10:39:04 At think so so Scaredy as the IRS. if you watch the news. 10:39:09 They are really behind. So, they will probably not release shoe right away to be Medicaid by ineligible, they have to literally release it. 10:39:30 I sounds complicated like maybe that's a one on one. 10:39:35 Yeah and you know. 10:39:38 Okay Medicaid by ns optional. It is coming off NSSI program is risky, unless you know for sure, you would be able to roll into SS di, please remember, we, we don't even know what the Supreme Court is gonna do with the Obamacare rolling. 10:40:09 You are protected. If you were an SSI include dating 1619 be. 10:40:17 You are protected not buy in because we use different funding through our state legislature. We don't know about anybody else, we can say yes we can say no, we need to wait for that decision, which we're all still waiting for it. 10:40:41 every step does and who's on this 10:40:47 resources do not matter on by it. 10:40:51 Were guy. They do not matter you when you look at the Medicaid app, or long term care app, Medicaid by him waves that you get mad, you get long term care with it if you were function no league eligible and resources and as that do not count. 10:41:22 All right. Alright, um, somebody asked Can they have a link to the last webinar. Yes, but you have to wait till I'm done with the presentation because I can't get out of it, to get it back in. 10:41:32 So, but we'll make sure you get that. 10:41:36 Um, can you give an example of proven you're working, especially if it's for a fit if you work for a family member, so. 10:41:45 Usually what happens is, and we get a lot of that we have grandparents to watch their grandkids we have people who house it once a month we have another client who takes trash out for 10:42:04 someone with a disability, you need a quick ladder, so and so. 10:42:13 Don is going to take trash out for Mr Smith. Every week, I am going to pay you her $12 a week to take out my four trash cans. 10:42:30 And then, Mr Smith will either sign or receive or write a check, you have to prove it. And if somebody word to some counties will do spot checks on different things. 10:42:51 They Battersea taken that trash out. 10:42:57 Angela. 10:42:58 Yes, can make a suggestion. 10:43:01 We, we probably still have a ways to go on the application itself. So, maybe what we'll do is ask, you know, three questions because they're getting very personal and. 10:43:11 Yep, that's actually where we were going to go next. 10:43:14 There's a few more in there and we will yeah if we can will signal back around if not. Did that answer. Yeah. Yeah. All right, let's move on to the determination Disability Determination still state this build a determination remember is for those who 10:43:33 are not currently on SSI or SDI. 10:43:41 When you're looking at this form, you're gonna have typical questions names so scary number mailing address, phone number, 10:43:57 somewhat new can contact. 10:44:02 Now, you will see as we go further way, that's going to be important if it applies. But remember when you were doing this, this form, and what Arbor arg is supposed to determine his day you meet so so security level of disability. 10:44:28 It does not mean you are going to be against as your SSDI eligible. It just means that when they're assessing disability. 10:44:41 It impacts you one day you are considered disabled. So you are going to see questions about your disability and serve them to the best of your ability. 10:44:59 Including. 10:45:01 How do your conditions I meant your ability to work, suddenly you 10:45:11 may have accommodations for example, they you don't need them realize that you're able to work from home, or you got this special keyboard or you have special tack, things like that. 10:45:30 Those are conditions and accommodations date you have date you do want, so they are very important, not only in determining disability. But also, In my opinion from all these years, is it gets you to be comfortable with knowing what you need new who you 10:46:00 you are. So, in our stay on bone needs to sleep during workout work hours needs Ted compatible with hearing aids unexpected things can trigger anxiety including project or demands made unexpectedly depression impacts deadlines and a bill de de, de lever 10:46:33 on time. 10:46:36 Anxiety is extreme and crowded situation rooms or group. 10:46:42 So be as visual as you can. 10:46:47 It does not. 10:46:52 It is important. 10:46:56 Don't be shamed about it. 10:46:58 That's who you are. That's what you need to be successful and work and working is good, it makes you feel good mentally, physically. So remember that 10:47:13 make any job related changes, do you work fewer hours. Do you have changed job dude the. 10:47:25 The most common one is extra time. 10:47:33 Another common one is you have to go to the doctors, every week or two weeks, and your employer goes, Yeah, you can do that. You may have an option to make up that time work in compensation just make it up, or you may say you know word. 10:48:01 Yeah, I'm good I'm not going to get paid, but the fact is, you're not going to get fired. So those are accommodations. 10:48:10 You want to list them as specifically as you can. 10:48:14 Are you working now. 10:48:18 Remember, if you are not working, you are not going to be Medicaid by ineligible, why is dead on here remember it is because they have to use this so so security standard. 10:48:37 In order to meet the criteria of what Congress created when they created these dual programs. 10:48:52 Okay. 10:48:54 Very important. 10:48:56 So, I see this all the time, and it literally gives me more gray hair, then I go ready yeah. 10:49:07 If you will apply for Social Security Disability SSI your SSDI before you do state disability determination whether you're allowed denied have to go through appeal, or you're still pending. 10:49:32 There are a whole nother set of 10:49:39 criteria is that I have to be met and timelines that are going to hurt you. That where I'm going to have this day for example, I can help you do this to apply until you have had no communication with so security for a period of months. 10:50:06 Why because that's in the roles. 10:50:10 So please, if you're on dispel the idea, don't do this so so security. If not, and you're going for long term care Medicaid, for example, And they go, you need disability determination. 10:50:34 Don't do that until you complete this all this state, and single entry point for long term care, or they really need is to know you have been determined disable. 10:50:51 Now, determining disability. Most people do not realize what being actually looked for. There are different categories. 10:51:06 So, you made column right Oh. 10:51:15 Okay, one, you have been disability, you will receive a different letter that will tell you if you qualify for Health First Colorado benefits. 10:51:28 Okay, if you have a disability a day, and you're applying for by in. Yeah, good. 10:51:35 Unless your income is so high that they have to explain income averaging or you make way too much rare cases. I do see it happen occasionally to you meet Colorado's standard friend limit did decide to build a day, but do not meet the stone so Security 10:52:11 Administration's full disability standard. 10:52:05 That means they you will get Medicaid buying in. 10:52:10 You may be long term care eligible. But if you can just also security application then you're not going to get it. 10:52:21 And you probably won't get it in appeal. 10:52:25 just from what I've seen, I'm not sure nod to terminate. 10:52:31 This is from my experience. 10:52:34 Just from what I see from eligibility. 10:52:41 So so security administration has decided, you do not have a fold this bill de dn you do not meet Colorado's disabilities standards. If you get one of those. 10:52:59 You can not reapply for 12 months. 10:53:04 So, if you applied first I was so scared day, and then you do this, you have to wait before you can reapply. There may be exception timelines depending if diagnosis change severity but it's quite difficult to do. 10:53:29 Will do them occasionally if we stay an exorbitant amount of evidence because we can help you. If we don't see have the evidence to prove them for solo so scary Dr. 10:53:43 Randy approved you, your disability boom you're disabled. Don't worry about it. 10:53:52 And then, So so security as already decided. You do not have the disability. Let me be very very clear, like it says here, if you would, degree with the distinction you can appeal that which so so security cc DC does not do so so security appeals, like 10:54:29 This form may be able to run under that new diagnosis or exacerbated one. If you are not going to apply for Social Security right away. 10:54:43 Why does the government as the prize. That's it. 10:54:53 It's technical, I didn't make the rules you didn't need their Congress did okay we know how Congress says, so then we go in 10:55:03 job duties. 10:55:05 What do you use for your job. 10:55:08 How much do you walk stands Dave climb band, all that stuff. be is accurate as you can, lifting weight. 10:55:21 Some people have doing some people are not lifting anything except maybe a pencil lawyer there. 10:55:31 You know little thing for the your laptop or something. Okay. 10:55:39 Since it's my app the worst I do is pick up my mouse. So, There you go. 10:55:44 Okay, we're talking ounces market. There's not right or wrong. Now, this is the important. There's a lot of important does things important. 10:55:59 Okay. This whole thing is so technical that's why we're doing this. So, yeah, have to fill out like it says, each doctor. 10:56:13 Each doctors address each doctors phone number, what they did, and a when you were first thing last thing I got a brain injury. I don't remember exact date so lot of times, at least put about 2008. 10:56:37 Why, because you're going to have to pull these records to establish you have the disability. 10:56:48 Why is that important, because you. 10:56:54 We need to know when your disability started to be able to know when you're going to have to do this again to prove you're still this stable 10:57:17 impatient, emergency room visit, hospitals, days if you've had them, outpatient care. 10:57:22 I'm now hearing tears of blood did this stuff hearing test Mr eyes the blood test. 10:57:30 Most providers. Now, not all have a portal. 10:57:36 A magical portal date you can pull information on the measure taken when the last test was done, What did the test show. 10:57:51 So nowadays with our technology. Most is information is real easy and they get, the more accurate you are, the better chance you have of it an easy evaluation. 10:58:08 So, our tester here, Miss Angela had a hearing test. 10:58:14 She probably is a copy of it. We're going to submit that when we submit the app. 10:58:23 Um, blood tests maybe they need maybe they don't need. So, but the hearing test arg definitely is gotten that need. I know that why I do this every day. 10:58:38 So we're governess amid meds. 10:58:42 If you have 10:58:46 your gonna step mad. 10:58:52 Why did you go to the college, and grade, the education portion is actually more for Social Security, it meets the criteria remember of the app, but in so so security disability they look at education, they have these people come in and go, Oh yeah, you 10:59:21 can put toothpicks into a dispenser to be sealed to sell but the grocery store. 10:59:32 aog does not look at it that way but you still need to fill out everything honestly. 10:59:43 So, 10:59:43 and we still live this so our test situation. Send stems Colvin. We have been working from home and my anxiety is less my distractions sorry less I no longer have to share it in office, which causes increased distractions. 11:00:05 I am able to nap is me day. I'm not having to drive to work reduces the risk of backstabbing due to excessive sleepiness. 11:00:17 I am incapable of being anywhere that there may be an excessive crowds or large gathering of people. 11:00:29 What the interesting thing about co vid, is it has been enlightening to see where our strains are, if we are in the appropriate setting. 11:00:47 Why is that important. That's important because we want to be able to work, and we want to be able to work successfully. And sometimes it's not always needing a piece of tech to help us be successful. 11:01:08 It can be simple observations like we see in this particular scenario. 11:01:17 And these will roll into what will be tied down the wine class is when we're discussing so security. 11:01:40 It also may bring back remember we had four options for type of disability date from arJ this information, what you provide as much as you can, may determine that a year Jesus says, You know what, maybe you could meet so so security criteria. 11:01:58 So remember everything goes both ways. These are unexpected, some negative some positive outcome. 11:02:11 Yeah, I don't really have to worry about large groups right now. 11:02:23 No, a lot of people don't. 11:02:18 But that's okay we learn about ours. 11:02:21 So what we're going to do here, page 12. 11:02:27 Again, sign date. More ABS get kicked out because they are not signed in, David. 11:02:41 The next one please so we don't do that page that's for arg, and the count need to do. 11:02:51 Now, I recommend, If even if I'm helping you do an app, not your designated a rep. Why, because I don't know what enough about you generally if you have a family member or friend, or spouse who are a child to knows about your disability who could answer 11:03:19 questions if, 11:03:23 let's say, the doctor's office date and gather enough records over there slow, or the records worrying clear, somebody who arg can talk to who can explain and verify what your disability is and how it impacts you. 11:03:47 I recommend whatever possible you have someone listed. 11:03:54 Same thing date side. Now, here's where I see enormous problems. So, government created this. 11:04:11 So, these releases. 11:04:14 And this, these instructions are not in an easy place to correlate. 11:04:22 So, this is how do you complete the medical release that is, is that the end of the disability gap is not listed with the medical release those. So we're going to go over this very specifically because it frustrates everyone, especially applicants. 11:04:47 So, as you know this then this sample did. 11:04:59 So what this says is you have three listed you're going to do three separate medical releases, and then three extra arg means that if the county's CS, or I say you don't have the required amount now released as you are. 11:05:26 This ain't gonna go anywhere and I can even appeal you peel it for you. 11:05:31 You will have to follow the specific instructions, even though they're in a weird place. And we add cc DC are always working to everything's fine tune. 11:05:47 but you need to watch your releases. 11:05:54 Next. 11:05:58 Okay, we're going to take a break before we go on. 11:06:07 Oh, do you wanna do, the break, Angela. 11:06:18 Sorry I didn't know I was on mute. 11:06:19 We need to keep pushing because we're running low on time, okay that's fine. Sorry. 11:06:24 No, no worries. so not an attorney you're. 11:06:30 Now, a non attorney or was that a state Medicaid form that permits you to have someone as a non attorney, be able to help you through an appeal. 11:06:52 Do a Medicaid appeal. 11:06:52 So very simple things to do you put a name you put your address. 11:06:58 If cc DC me choose at the information to be able to take an appeal. 11:07:29 In the administrative courts. You must fill the form out exactly as it is designated Colorado crust just build a coalition name, address, that's a requirement because we are 11:07:32 acting as attorneys allowed to in the administrative courts. We also meet the requirement for health and human service for an encrypted emails. 11:07:50 We really do not take cases into appeal that we can do on encrypted, emails, it. 11:08:05 It's too difficult to have fluid communications. 11:08:08 Clients are with disabilities are just complaining about acts as still word for it, and we do not use encryption. We respect, everything about protect protected health information, but we just can efficiently work that way. 11:08:31 Now I think he's got, I think I'm out of order Sorry, I think we wanted to do the release of information form first Correct, yeah there we go oh sorry about that. 11:08:39 No worries. 11:08:41 So we just get none and turn to your. Now we will actually ask for those released is that non attorney. Then, Medicaid disclosure form before we even agree to work on any cases or generally give information to you. 11:09:07 Why we can help you with for hunting down information to help you. So this is the magical release. If you add six on your form like our sample, you are going to have to fill out six of those forms. 11:09:27 You are going to have to be able to compile those six of them, get them into an email if you want us to help you. And package them to us why because if we're handling your Medicaid by in process. 11:09:52 We have dead then transfer everything over to the county, who has do we then submit everything to a RJ. We know how to package it and the most efficient way. 11:10:10 We can package it, if we do not to have it. 11:10:14 So releases are important. This release you do not need a copy of your ID. 11:10:25 Non attorney. 11:10:27 You do not need a copy. So, to help you with your disability app like I said earlier, if you have 11:10:39 information hearing test vision test. 11:10:44 X ray results, not the actual X ray from your providers magical portal. 11:11:05 You're if I'm representing you and helping you, you're gonna give me that information. 11:11:01 It definitely helps them make the process go from 90 days. So, we may be able to get you your determination in 45 days have the time, if we have the information. 11:11:22 I'm 11:11:26 right you're conditioned so if you had major depressive disorder, for example, you would probably have medical after visit summary day you could include. 11:11:41 If you have meds, you're gonna provide your aftercare summary med plan now remember. 11:11:59 Okay. Providers truthfully, even first so scary they are really really slow. 11:12:02 So in this example we know who our person is. 11:12:09 It's the after care what the medications are for why that documents need for meds need possible side effects so why you would need accommodations that work, or 11:12:26 where work is easier in one dynamic. And then I'm hearing test. 11:12:37 In this case. So, getting your documentation is helpful. 11:12:44 It helps you, but they can wait you know if you don't want me to do that we don't pressure you a orgy just don't try you know several times over 90 days to get them that, that's preference. 11:13:01 I just suggest you do it because you probably need insurance, and you want. 11:13:28 Specially for long term care you, you want to give as much documentation, you're gonna have to give it any way for long term care, or have your duck sign other forms. 11:13:31 Sorry. It just says we know it's a lot of information we're actually at the end so we can take some questions here, but yeah. 11:13:38 And some of these were comments that I had for Donna when I was filling it out so I really appreciated what she said to me about the, you know, the biggest hardest part is that when you need to apply for this oftentimes you're under a lot of stress, and 11:13:51 and it is totally overwhelming. And even though I teach a lot of this stuff, I completely was overwhelmed, to which Donna said you have my number, but that's why we're here. 11:14:03 Exactly. 11:14:07 And it is a lot of information and it will the presentations will be available, the worksheets will be available, but we have about 15 minutes to run a few questions. 11:14:18 Let me pull the ones that seem a little bit more generic or general to everyone and if we didn't answer it will either get back to you directly. 11:14:27 Or it'll be on the QA. 11:14:32 Let me see here. 11:14:34 How do I know what date, I was determined disabled stone. 11:14:40 If you remember this slide that had 11:14:45 how you were good term and on, there's usually yet another sheet of paper that will give you what's called your diary date your diary date. You have one first. 11:15:02 If you're on social security disability or for state disability, and it'll say we have determined do disabled from this date, because that's really important. 11:15:21 Because, and like so so security usually it's three five or seven years. 11:15:31 You, you have to be read determine, so that gives you a gauge. It's a really helpful thing if you want to go to DVR for help. It really helps. 11:15:46 I believe it was the second page of this one that you gave to me right, Yeah. 11:15:51 Sorry about that. 11:15:53 Um, what if you don't have a doctor. 11:15:57 If you don't have a doctor that a DR G will can send you to a doctor, just like so so security does to event, a third party evaluation. 11:16:12 It shouldn't be that hard to find doctors now as Ben Stoli one sure magic a dap goes in that your doctors so us so we take them. 11:16:29 Cold van is not an excuse for doing your redetermination part, magic, the state, the feds have been so easy and flexible with having so many things electronically and tell them it is then in zoom and Microsoft Teams done a bunch of others. 11:16:56 There's usually no problem with getting a doctor. 11:17:02 What does not need, who does not need to do a disability determination. If you're on SSI or SSD guy. 11:17:17 Right. 11:17:17 What if the person stops working, How long does the person have to find another job. 11:17:22 I'm non covert times about 15 days coven time remember we are in extended benefits. So, you wouldn't get kicked off. 11:17:41 Kill the health emergency yeah and these are things we are always, not just these these other partners, people on these benefits are always trying to have addressed and always trying to see can we get extensions or realistic timelines, right now is hard 11:18:07 to find a job. 11:18:10 It was them a year ago as hard so that's frustrating but that's the only way I can't name so you're protected right now. 11:18:23 I'm Jennifer Why don't you unmute yourself she needed a little more clarification and I don't think I read the question right. Okay, here I am. 11:18:35 So, my disability as a brain injury, so I have a bit of challenge with memory. 11:18:42 Focus. 11:18:44 But you said you showed some forms Donna, about how do I know the date of my SSD I did determination. 11:18:55 I, I don't know how I'm supposed to know the date of when I got my SS di determination. Oh, I seen so when you are filling out the Medicaid by in the Medicaid app. 11:19:12 Is that where, where it said you got as D. Yes, si you would put your approved. You know what I put. Truthfully, I put I have a brain injury. I'm not sure about. 11:19:31 So, and in there easily verifiable. 11:19:37 It's okay to use the word about, okay, okay, this day. 11:19:43 I've ever a DJ. I don't have a clue I missing years of junk some memory, I don't know. 11:19:53 Yeah. Okay. 11:19:55 Yeah, cuz I mean I know when I know when I first, when I got my first deposit from SS di. I have I can look at my bank and look up that that's that's the date I have, so I guess I can use that data around that time. 11:20:10 Yeah. That said, just like people with certain disabilities, the AR gn, and most counties. Honestly, understand the basics of disability and like if you were working with does that use the med. 11:20:32 We have worse privately funded org So please do not misunderstand when nice day. 11:20:41 We work with a lot of counties in this state who will come to us and go, hey, can, can you give some more specifics, or is this a good estimate deal. Asked Question Garrett, most people are not out to inhibit the benefit. 11:21:05 Okay, that's helpful. Thank you. 11:21:08 You're welcome. 11:21:11 All right, let's see. 11:21:13 Kevin has a lot of questions but I think they're more individual to him. 11:21:19 Although he was, you know, one of them I think that would be relevant would be if you're on. What if you're on a program like 1619 be, do you want to switch should you switch were Why would you switch. 11:21:35 Okay. 11:21:36 My. 11:21:39 If I were counseling, someone. I'm processing it one. 11:21:47 I think you take into consideration, age, disability day. Were you in crisis. 11:22:03 In 11:22:03 the last year meaning did you have to go the hospital was it simple. Do you tend to need high levels of care. 11:22:14 Could you in any possible way. Be as di eligible. So you would have Medicare, Medicaid, it's so specific to having that counseling, time to go over each person situation. 11:22:38 I can say guest or know what's going to work for someone. I can only give you facts right now. Like you get, you know, as set limits if you're on notices study your meeting those requirements. 11:22:59 Do your subsidy you're always positive believe drugs. 11:23:04 Some things. You got to. 11:23:08 We can talk through but you actually have to make those decisions. 11:23:17 Um, yeah. That's why I got overwhelmed. Okay. 11:23:20 Julie says, Did I understand that if one is not already on SSI STI, then the 3368 must be filled out concurrently with the Medicaid by in is that the Disability Determination 3368. 11:23:37 Julie heart You can unmute yourself. I don't know what the number is I know it state disability determination that looks like we might have, Julie. Hi. 11:23:48 Hi. Thanks so much for all your information yeah the 3368 is the disability application. 11:23:53 Yes. Don't wait for that, not done as STI your SSD guy. Yes, that is required to be filled out to be Medicaid by in eligible. 11:24:10 Thank you. 11:24:12 This is Brenda Angela Can I just make a statement. Yes, please. Thank you. 11:24:18 Thank you, Donna, your expertise on this is so valuable. 11:24:26 And 11:24:27 it's so valuable. 11:24:31 And I think that it's important that everyone know that the Colorado cross is Billy coalition is doing these webinars to educate us, all of us educate you to educate as we are also, we want people to join our organization is a really simple application 11:24:52 that is online, and if for any reason you can't join online. You can call in and Angela will give you that number. 11:25:00 And I bring this up because like, I'm gonna just said, there's so many things that are individualized that we can't answer all the questions, and you deserve to have someone who can sit with you and and understand your specific situation and get some 11:25:20 answers. So, the my heart I have a goal for AC DC they've been around for 30 years they've been doing this, we're excited about this whole webinar series and we see it going all a year bringing information to you, and I would ask that you consider joining 11:25:39 cc DC Donna said something earlier to about Congress about legislation. We need voices. 11:25:49 We need a large number of voices to make sure that those Congress people, and those letter legislators know that we will be heard. As you heard, Donna say by in Medicaid by in, they can keep it or they can change it. 11:26:07 And so, was important. 11:26:19 So what is so important is that we start building a coalition at cc DC, my goal would be that we have over 50,000 people, so that our senators and our representatives, they hear us. 11:26:32 And so if you, if you have the time and if you would take the energy to consider joining us as a member, we really would appreciate that. 11:26:45 Thanks Angela. You bet. Thank you, Brenda, and we're just about out of time. 11:26:50 There were a few requests for links, I will send those to you all. 11:26:55 You'll get a couple emails from us afterwards, we're going to send out another survey would appreciate your responses it's short, sweet and and painful isn't a word, and painful it is now. 11:27:09 So, if you, you know if afterwards you're thinking about it you have more questions. Absolutely. Please connect Angela. Yes, go ahead. I'm sorry rather benefit one. 11:28:27 The, the individuals that the individual will be speaking as certified Social Security has a certification program where they train the people on social security benefits. 11:28:40 So you're going to get some valuable and very important information so that you can make a choice about working, an informed choice. That's okay thank you Brenda, one last piece and then I'll let y'all go. 11:28:58 We start our revised and revamped basic advocacy training program next week is this the launch of a five week three hour. 11:29:08 One day a week three hours for each day session on basic advocacy skills at the end of the session of each session the last 20 minutes or so you get to do a Q amp a with individuals who are subject matter experts and have lived experience in the topics 11:29:23 that we're talking about.
