Social Justice

Social Justice involves anything related to equity. It’s important to note by definition, equality and equity are not the same. At CCDC our focus is on equity and Social Justice.  Many Social Justice issues affect a broader group than only people with disabilities, yet people with disabilities are often disproportionately affected.  We work on issues such as access to justice, to assure that people who are dealing with criminal or civil courts have access to attorneys, that people who are low income are not jailed for failure to pay small fines, and activities connected with homelessness are not criminalized.  We work with our allies on issues of racial equity.
