Dear Parent of a Transition-Aged Young Adult.

The Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition (CCDC) is a non-profit run by and for people with disabilities (PWD). We combine the voices of PWD and family members of PWD in Colorado to work for social justice for Coloradans with disabilities. We at CCDC are passionate about spreading correct information about voting for people with disabilities and those who love and support them. Voting for legislators, judges, and ballot initiatives that support the benefits that make our lives work is crucial!

Coloradans who have Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who are 18 years old or older are eligible to vote. Those who have guardians are still eligible to vote. This fall CCDC will be releasing a Ballot Guide that is plain language. As a 501(c)3, we cannot endorse specific candidates however we will weigh in on disability-specific ballot initiatives. We urge you to educate yourself on the candidates and their positions and share knowledge with your young adult.

If you or your young adult is not registered to vote, please visit the Secretary of State website to register or update your address. If you have questions, please contact me Dawn Howard at 303-641-4173 (please leave a message) dhoward@ccdconline.org Nothing About Us without Us-Ever including elections!
