CCDC has a number of programs and services for CCDC members. Membership is free for people with disabilities and allies. If you are not a CCDC member, but would like to become one, use this link to go to our membership page.
Legal Program
CCDC's Legal Program represents individuals with disabilities and the organization in disability discrimination cases, and in other cases that have the potential to improve the lives of people with disabilities in Colorado.
Regional Groups
CCDC has affilitate Regional Groups all around the state of Colorado. Each group addresses statewide issues from a local perspective, and addresses issues of import to people with disabilities in their own regions.
Center for Rights of Parents with Disabilities
The Center for Rights of Parents with Disabilities provides legal representation, education and advocacy on behalf of parents with disabilities to combat discrimination that affects disabled parents.
Advocacy Program
The CCDC Advocacy Program provides individual advocacy for people with disabilities in the areas of Medicaid, mental health services, problems with service providers, problems with social services agencies, and some social security administration problems but rarely initial benefits determinations, helping people get a reasonable modification or accommodation under the ADA, and some guardianship issues. The program uses non-attorney advocates to help individuals help themselves.
Youth Program
The CCDC Youth Program is an internship for teenagers to learn self-advocacy skills, and learn about disability culture and the systems that affect our lives each day.
Policy/Legislature
CCDC volunteers work to monitor policy and legislation to ensure the needs of people with disabilities are represented, and to give us a voice in the political process.
