Fort Morgan Cross-Disability Coalition

About us: We’ve been meeting since about 2003 out of a general dissatisfaction with services for people with disabilities in Morgan County. We’ve always been popular, with 40 or 50 people in our group and about 25 coming to our meetings even in winter. Most of what we do is helping people get their benefits from Social Services or Options for Long Term Care. Focus Areas: We are building a core of advocates to help people get better services from the county and to be able to speak up at public meetings when something needs to be said. We are organizing a fundraiser in April for our ADA shindig in July. Accomplishments: We were the first county to start the Disability Tour to tell Medicaid what their services looked like to the people who depend on them—it really helped for a while, but we need to do it again. Upcoming Events/Meetings: We meet every third Tuesday at the Fort Morgan library/museum from 12:00 to 1:00. We provide lunch and sometimes speakers. Contact Info: Call Hope Krause at 970-542-2254
