Welcome to the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition's Center for Rights of Parents with Disabilities ("CRPD"). Here you can find out about the CRPD, and how to receive assistance from the Program, parenting resources, and case law resources. The CRPD is primarily funded through the generosity of the law firm Greenberg Traurig and Equal Justice Works. We appreciate their generosity that has allowed the CRPD to be established.
Housing Discrimination?
Are you having trouble renting an apartment in buildings that are set aside for people with disabilities and elderly individuals? If you would be eligible to live in the building due to your disability, the building cannot prohibit you from living there because you have full or part-time custody of your children. A building can establish non-discriminatory occupancy requirement (such as 2 people in a 400 square foot one bedroom apartment, or 4 people in a 2 bedroom apartment), but they cannot prohibit children. Our Mission
The Center for the Rights of Parents with Disabilities ("CRPD") mission is to combat discrimination that impacts parenting for parents with disabilities, through direct services, education, research and training.
The Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition is Colorado’s only statewide organization run by and for people with all types of disabilities. We work on systemic change that promotes independence, self-reliance and full inclusion for people with disabilities. We accomplish our goals through grassroots organizing, legal advocacy, legislative and regulatory change. We work on issues at the local, state and national level.
