Community Resource Center Legend

In June 2006, the Community Resource Center, in celebration of their 25th Anniversay, honored Julie Reiskin and 24 other Colorado community organizer legends. Julie was recognized for the work she performs on behalf of people with disabilities in Colorado, through her capacity as executive director at CCDC.

Liberty Bell Award

The Denver Bar Association presented Kevin Williams with this prestigious award at its 2002 annual ceremony. The award is given each year to a Denver attorney in recognition of community service that has strengthened freedom under the law. CCDC is very proud to receive this honor from Denver's legal community.

Impact Fund Celebrating Impact

In 2001 the CCDC Legal Program was awarded the Impact Fund Celebrating Impact award. The Impact Fund is dedicated to providing funding and technical assistance and representation for complex public interest litigation in the areas of civil and human rights, environmental justice and poverty law.

Peter C. Robertson Memorial Award for Civil Rights Advocacy

Each year, the law firm of Fox & Robertson, P.C., a firm dedicated to the civil rights of all people, presents this award to an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to enforcing and expanding the rights of people with disabilities. In 1999, they presented Kevin Williams with this award. The award was named in memorial of Peter C. Robertson, Esq., who devoted his life and career to civil rights, specifically to the right to equal employment opportunity.

Paul A. Bilzi Memorial Access Award

Paul Bilzi was a founding member of CCDC. Many of us knew him well, and his passing was an extraordinary loss to the disability community. In all of Paul's life and innumerable community involvements, his focus was on justice. Paul's life was a testament to the way we all -- people with or without disabilities -- should live. Each year, Paul's wife Jean Parker, former CCDC Executive Director and a superior advocate, presents this award to an individual in recognition of outstanding commitment and dedication to improving access for people with disabilities. In 1999, noting that when she and Paul met Kevin years before, they called him, "Mr. System," Jean awarded Kevin Williams with this prestigious honor. Jean remarked that now Kevin changes the system, something we know Paul did everyday of his life.

Channel 7 Everyday Hero

In January 2000, Julie Reiskin was awarded the Channel 7 everyday hero award for her tireless efforts on behalf of people with disabilities across Colorado.

Equal Justice Works Fellowhip

Carrie Ann Lucas was awarded a presigious Equal Justice Works Fellowship, sponsored by the law firm of Greenberg Traurig to establish the Center for Rights of Parents with Disabilities in 2005.
