Become a Volunteer Advocate
Our individual advocacy program survives on volunteers. We provide intensive training to people interested in becoming advocates. Once someone passes the training class they are assigned a 6-month internship to develop an area of expertise. Advocates are also assigned a mentor to help them with initial cases. Advocates can do more than one internship. Once an advocate has completed the internship and has acquired the necessary skill set they receive certification from CCDC. CCDC also provides updates and refresher courses along with access to the secure advocate web site for trained advocates. Classes are held in Denver and rural areas throughout the year depending on the demand.
